Kelim Rug

The Qashqai are Turkish-speaking nomadic tribes living in the region around Shiraz in southwest Iran. Kilims are flat wool rugs that can be used on both sides, featuring a typical slit weave. This means that the weft contains slits where the colours change. The rugs display classic Qashqai motifs such as rhombuses, squares, stripes, and Caucasian star motifs. Colours such as blue, yellow, red, green, and beige are used.
